Zvezda 1/100 Models

For Fathers day my son bought me a collection of Zvezda 1/100 models, he thought he was buying 1/72 " I thought they were cheap he said" Anyway over the summer months whilst working away on a house renovation I took them with me, no glue is required so just a knife and file was all I needed and I must say they went together very well and the level of detail on theses tiny tanks is amazing. I recently had the time to paint them so here they are

I've had this model built or sometime but only just got round to painting it

I decided I quite liked the colour plate for the unknown unit early 1945. I like the contrast between the very dark olive green and the lightened sand yellow. I used my trusty LifeColor paints and tried to airbrush the camo as close as I could. I've never been a fan of foliage on models and now I know why - I'm rubbish at it.

This is the old Dragon Brumbar Late Production kit there is a lot of work needed to bring it up to standard, far too much for me so it was built from the box. The model will form part of a diorama at some point along with the Miniart Bantam set in the Ardennes .

Just the markings to add plus I noticed I forgot to paint the rear light.

It has been a while since my last post due to heavy work load. The Mirage Panzer IV suffered an unprovoked attack from my wife as she took a box down from a shelf in my model room. The box somehow took flight from the other side of the room and landed on my desk crushing the little panzer." I don't think it is broken" she informed me.So a new gun barrel was ordered the frame under the barrel had to be scratched built and the wheels and tracks had to be re - built. I'll post some pictures as the model progresses. Anyway here is the Crusader

Progress has been a little slow due to a heavy work load and no time for model making so this is where I am at the moment everything is fitting very well , I was asked if the tracks are the kit ones? and in answer to that, yes they are.They are such a good fit around the drive sprocket and between the wheels no glue is required, I will of course glue them later and add some sag.

The model was built directly from the box  the only thing I added was some vision blocks to the  cupola .
 I really like this tank and hopefully will build another one in this scale as well as one in my favourite 1/72
